Um, as I mentioned, today we have two ceremonial presentations. The first one is exciting to me because we get to acknowledge the incredible work of one of our exceptional city staff. A member of our cities parks, forestry, and horticultural operations team has been recognised for excellence in arboro culture. Did I get that right, Shannon? Okay, good. It's the first time I've ever said that word out loud, which is very, very happy that I got it right. So forestry inspector, Cary, Stea Hanson. Has received the women in arboro culture, Ontario award of recognition presented by the International Society of Arboro culture, Ontario. Who knew I'd get to say it three times in the same segment. Uh, honouring her for her expertise and leadership in this field. The international society of our borough culture, Ontario, awards of distinction, celebrate individuals and organisations making significant contributions to our provinces, forestry sector. The women in arboro culture, Ontario highlights and advances the role of women in the field with its award of recognition on our ring those who support and encourage women entering and growing in the profession. Now we know that Vaughn is home to so many remarkable parks and wilderness areas. And it is truly vital for us, all of us, to be their biggest champion. This acknowledgement tells me that our city is on the right track. Through her role as a forestry inspector, Carrie Hashon, a deep dedication to protecting and enhancing bonds tree canopy, contributing to a greener, healthier, and more sustainable city for all of our residents. And this award. Reflects her expertise and professionalism and her leadership in commitment to advancing the arboro culture industry. It is a pleasure to recognise an outstanding member of our urban forestry team and individual whose impact actually extends beyond this organisation. The award of recognition from the international society of a bora culture, Ontario, in partnership with the women in a boraculture, Ontario committee celebrates individuals who have made meaningful contributions to urban forestry. This award is presented to an individual who demonstrates leadership in a strong commitment to supporting and encouraging women in the industry. We are incredibly proud of Cary Stia Hansen, a forestry inspector as this year's recipient. In her role, she plays a critical part in protecting and maintaining our urban forest, ensuring that development is balanced with preservation. And that our tree canopy continues to thrive for future generations. Cary brings with her two decades of experience. And after 16 years as a production arborist, she developed a strong technical expertise in a deep connection to the profession. Through her work as a tree climber, she has had the unique opportunity to see cities and communities from a different vantage point high up in the trees, shaping her perspective and appreciation for the landscapes she now helps protect. Cary is a member of the women in a borough culture, Ontario Committee and was the driving force in its early development. Her example has encouraged peers and emerging arborists alike to see themselves as leaders, as experts and essential contributors. She is also seen as a positive change in the industry and is proud to witness the study growth in the number of women entering the profession each year. Cary once again, thank you for your dedication, your leadership and the meaningful impact you continue to make each day. Okay. You can tell it's the last council meeting before the summer. Uh, on behalf of the city of bond and members of council, I want to welcome the Vaughn outsoury U18 girls. I'm going to say girls eye model. Did I get that right. I'm looking, okay, I see that I see nodding heads. The girls I model team and the Vanaturi U17OPDL boys team. As well, of course, as their coaches, team staff, families, friends and supporters right here to there, to our Vaughn City Hall. Thank you so much for joining us today for this celebration. Now colleagues, these two teams have had a truly remarkable soccer season. First, I want to congratulate the bonoed sodium U18 girls. I model team for becoming 2007 girls, Ontario Cup champions, which I think is fantastic. How about a big round of applause. This team has had an unbelievable season. Not only did they win their league, but they went on to capture the milk up Ontario cup. This championship is not only the largest club competition in Canada. But also one of the oldest and most prestigious sporting events in the country. This is a truly special and remarkable achievement. And next, I'd also like to congratulate the von U17OPDL boys who had become the 2008 boys OPDL charity shield cup champions. Another big round of applause. Their season has been nothing short about standing. They captured the Gary Miller charity shield and claimed the championship of the OPDL premier division for the second consecutive year. The OPDL is the province's prestigious high performance youth league where the standards are high and the competition is fierce. I cannot emphasize enough how amazing these achievements are. To both teams, please know that your winds go beyond the trophies. You have demonstrated leadership. Sportsmanship and a commitment to excellence that I know and we know inspires everyone around you. From your teammates to your coaches to your families and to our broader community. Of course I do want to recognise the coaches, the team staff, the families, the friends of the players, because I know the entire ecosystem of support with the guidance and the encouragement played a huge part and the team's successes. Congratulations once again to our champions. We can't wait to see what you all accomplish next. I'd now like to turn things over to Ward I Councillor, Maryland and I Ayafrady to say a few words. Um, I really am so proud of both these teams and I really want to share my warmest congratulations to both of you because you've all worked so hard and you've rose to the occasion when it mattered most, demonstrating skill, teamwork and a deep commitment to one another. You've set a benchmark for what it means to be a team and represented your club with pride and distinction, not just your club, but also the entire community. And I thank you for that. To the coaches and team staff, uh, you're dedicated leadership and guidance for players as immeasurable. For the family and friends, thank you for always being in the Players Corner. I had a few other comments that were shared with me that I thought, you know, I want to put out there. Like this was a remarkable. I'll start with the girls Ontario Cup champions. Um, this was an enormous, enormous win for the girls. And they've won so many championships, uh, you know, in the last year or two. And they, um, you know, they've, they've competed. So the, um, the final competition, which we are recognising them for, aside being the oldest sporting event in the country had over 12, 000 athletes and over 500 teams competing across 22 divisions. And this happens every year. So with the girls, thank you for being here. Thank you for showing off your medals. I always love seeing that. And I'd also like to thank the coaches, Marcello Capuzzolo and Gabe Leo and managers Mark Arduini and Jennifer Lavorato. I think I said that right, correct? And, uh, for the boys, the Gary Miller charity shield has, it's a charity event and, um, it's a signature event for the OPDL calendar. And it certainly demonstrates that player development extend beyond the pitch encouraging leadership empathy and a commitment to give back. And in having said that, that team donated the proceeds, uh, from Ontario soccer to sick kids. So thank you boys for the great work you've done there. And I also would like to thank head coach Luca Forno goalkeeper coach Dominic Gentile. Congratulations to both of you. And I really do look forward to seeing you back again with more award. Okay. Thank you very much, Mr. Mayor, for bringing this member's resolution forward to honour and commemorate the victims of mass murder in Iran. Um, I think that, uh, our community has shown that we are going to stand in solidarity. Um, with the people who support democracy and freedom. And, um, I would hope that maybe the, um, kind of in person or to have some kind of temporary plaque or something that we could do to honour the victims or people could leave messages or if there was anything that we could, um, I would certainly support that. Does anyone else supposed to comment before I provide some very brief reform marks? Anyone else? No. Okay. Just so, I mean, it's, it's evident from, and again, for those who might not have caught it when we went through the earlier part of the agenda, the title for the members resolution is honouring and commemorating the victims of mass murder in Iran. I think everyone here knows that this year has been an exceedingly difficult time for the Iranian Canadian community, certainly here in our city, but also right across this country. And frankly, right around the world. And I'm very proud of the fact that in partnership with the community, we were one of the first city halls anywhere in this province to fly proudly. The lion and sun flag on what might have been the coldest night of the year, but there were still several hundred von residents. And York region residents who braved the weather and were here to very clearly make a statement about the importance of supporting their loved ones. Um, back home in Iran who are facing some of the most horrific conditions imaginable as the terrorist regime and control of that country now for nearly five decades was literally murdering innocent people in the streets, their own people in the streets, people who are simply looking to live a world in a world or in a country where freedom, equality, democracy, writes the things that we tend to take for granted here in Canada. Um, could we come part of their daily life back home in Iran. Colleagues will remember. We also hosted here on a Saturday many, many weeks ago a bit of a vigil, well not a bit of a vigil. A vigil to honour the tens of thousands who were slaughtered by the terrorist regime in Iran. I raised these things not to be excessively somber, but I raised them because I'm proud of the fact that here in Vaughn, we have not, we have not sat back as spectators while the Iranian Canadian community in our city has been suffering. And while it's being so difficult, we have demonstrated our commitment in our solidarity with the community and proudly. So then I believe this resolution is a natural extension. The natural next step and demonstrating, um, our solidarity and our desire and determination to stand shoulder to shoulder with the community that continues to suffer. Uh, these last number of months. And these last number of decades. So I am very proud to bring this forward. I'm chairing the meeting today. So I'm not going to move it. But perhaps our deputy mayor will officially move the resolution. And it can be seconded by Councillor Marto. I'm not sure if anyone else. Thank you.
